Like drinking potions, using scrolls using all abilities etc. There is less encounter spam (at least in the dungeons so far), and they are challenging in a way that you really have to use every tool at your disposal to overcome.

I have to say though, I think overall I like the combat in this game more than in Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous / Kingmaker. It feels like every enemy is like 3 levels higher everywhere you go. Six times! Or the wind elemental that can attack two times per turn and seems to be unable to roll below 15 and takes out like 20 HP in one attack when I'm level 4. In my (forced to the end) journey to the dark castle, I was attacked by a group of cultists where one guy was able to attack 6 times in one turn. Then there is the balancing (or lack thereof). Like what is that? They designed a lot of stuff in the game and UI so smartly and then they faceplant on such basic things. When travelling, there is no way to turn back or generally change course. Having to press an extra key on the keyboard to see actual useful tooltips when hovering over an item. There are a lot of just absolutely baffling design decisions in this game.
